Originating from India, this transitional-style rug features a Serapi design. The background color of this rug is pistachio, complemented by a nutmeg border. Crafted from wool on cotton, this rug boasts a main color of green.
With a recent weaving, this rug has undergone final washing and finishing processes in Jaipur. The use of chromium dyes enhances color accuracy, light-fastness, and consistency, especially with the antique finishing applied to these rugs. Most of the weaving is carried out by smaller contractors who distribute designs, pre-dyed wools, and hand-spun wools to villages outside of Jaipur, with some villages situated as far away as Bikaner to the west. The weavers, paid by the square meter, primarily weave these rugs in their own homes, while larger rugs wider than 10 feet are typically made in villages equipped with stationary horizontal looms. Rajasthan rugs are woven using an asymmetrical Persian-type knot, contributing to their unique construction and vintage appearance.
The wool used in this rug is a blend of Ghazni wool imported from Afghanistan and South African wool. The double-wefted foundation consists of a thick bottom weft with dense cotton and a finer, pure white, upper weft. This construction, combined with the asymmetrical knotting, contributes to the visible texture and overall lighter appearance of the rug. The designs are inspired by antique Persian and Khotanese carpets, blending traditional and modern color palettes.
Featuring 104 knots per square inch, this rug contains a total of 1,201,545 hand-tied knots. The visual description of this rug highlights its intricate and traditional design, including a central medallion with geometric and symmetrical patterns, detailed floral and abstract motifs, a soft color palette with darker accents, multiple borders with varying motifs, high symmetry, and a moderately dense pattern with open spaces.

Don’t take our word for it

Last fall, my husband and I purchased a gorgeous silk from you for our Boston Condo. Based on the quality of your rugs and customer service, we decided to visit you again to purchase rugs for our Connecticut home. Luckily, we received your postcard about the tent sale and came home with two more stunning rugs.

I can't say enough good things about this store, especially Susanne and Breanna. I shop at many rug places as I am an interior designer looking for very specific rugs all the time. No one out there compares to this store and their wonderful Sales associates. Thank you Susanne and Breanna for all your help!

Over the past year we purchased three rugs, as well as carpet from L&A. Our experience could not have been more positive and we love what we purchased.
In addition, every single person
in the showroom was beyond helpful, knowledgeable and kind. It was truly a pleasure. Thank you!

Never have I enjoyed spending money as much as at Landry & Arcari!!! Thank you so much for your attention and guidance. The rug I chose grounds the furniture and makes the living room. It is so beautiful and I really appreciate all of your help.
