Originating from India, this rug showcases a Ferahan design in a transitional style. The background of the rug is a calming taupe color, complemented by an ice blue border. Crafted from wool on a cotton foundation, this rug boasts a knotting density of approximately 40 knots per square inch, a characteristic that can vary due to the cottage industry nature of production.

In the final stages of production, the rug undergoes washing and finishing processes in Jaipur. Chromium dyes are preferred for their color accuracy and lightfastness, ensuring consistency, particularly with the antique finishing applied to these rugs. While most of these rugs are woven in villages outside Jaipur, some may come from regions as far as Bikaner. The weavers, contracted based on square meter output, primarily work from their own homes. Employing an asymmetrical Persian knotting technique, these rugs feature a unique construction and finishing process, contributing to their vintage, time-worn appearance.

A blend of Ghazni and South African wool forms the textured pile of the rug, set upon a double-wefted cotton foundation. The foundation consists of a thick bottom weft and a finer top weft, creating a ribbed texture reminiscent of antique rugs. Drawing inspiration from antique Persian and Khotanese carpets, the design of the rug incorporates traditional and modern elements, resulting in a harmonious blend of classic motifs and contemporary colorations.

Visually, the rug exudes a minimalist charm with a predominantly light gray or beige palette. Its pattern includes intricate geometric shapes, florals, and possible abstract motifs in a symmetrically arranged central area, devoid of a central medallion. Multiple borders surround the central field, with each border layer featuring distinctive motifs and symbols that add depth and interest to the overall design.

The color scheme of the rug, with its light gray background and muted blue-gray patterns, offers a soft and serene aesthetic. The symmetrical design, both horizontally and vertically, enhances the rug's balanced composition, while the moderate pattern density allows each motif to stand out gracefully against the background.
