Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug with a large harshang design, showcasing the tribal style. This rug is truly a masterpiece, crafted with precision and skill. Its background is a deep navy, beautifully contrasted by a rust-colored border. The main color of this rug is a captivating blue, invoking a sense of serenity and tranquility.

Originating from Afghanistan, specifically the Ghazni Province in the southeast, this rug harnesses the natural mountainous terrain that produces long, high-quality wool. The wool is sourced from sheep in the region and then brought to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it is meticulously hand carded and spun into carpet yarn.

The weaving process takes place in the homes of ethnic Turkmen weavers, often from the Esari Subtribe. These talented artisans utilize traditional floor looms, creating each rug with the utmost care and attention to detail. Through the skillful use of asymmetrical "Persian" knotting, a durable and long-lasting rug is achieved.

Made predominantly from wool on a cotton foundation, this rug boasts a double-wefted construction. The heavily packed depressed warp weaving ensures its resilience and durability, making it an ideal investment for any home. With centuries-old natural dye stuffs, the colors of this rug are truly remarkable.

Measuring at 6 '0" by 9 '0", this rug showcases the epitome of craftsmanship and expertise. With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, we calculated a total of 614,556 individually hand-tied knots in this magnificent piece. Each knot represents the dedication and skill of the weaver, resulting in a rug that is not only beautiful but also a testament to the rich history and artistry of Afghan rug making.

The color blue in this rug is achieved through the use of natural indigo dye stuffs. Derived from the leaves of the indigo plant, natural indigo dyes have been used for thousands of years to create vibrant blue hues. With its age-old tradition and cultural significance, this rug will surely be a captivating addition to any space.

Immerse yourself in the beauty and craftsmanship of this Afghani rug. With its striking design, rich history, and meticulous craftsmanship, it is a true work of art. Add a touch of elegance and sophistication to your home with this one-of-a-kind piece.
