The raw Ghazni wool is then brought to the western side of Afghanistan, around Herat, where it undergoes the meticulous process of hand carding and spinning into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms in their own homes, the weavers skillfully create this masterpiece. The weaving technique employed is an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, ensuring the utmost precision and durability. The warp and weft are made with cotton, while the luxurious pile is crafted from soft and luxurious wool. The double weft and heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique result in a rug that is exceptionally durable, standing the test of time.
